Capo d'Orlando

The municipality of Capo d'Orlando owes its name to the famous Paladin Orlando who stayed there for a short period during his journey to the Holy Land.

The jewel in the crown of the town is the brand new tourist port “Capo d'Orlando Marina” from which you can easily reach the Aeolian Islands using the dinghy rental services or charterof sailing boats and catamarans, but it is also a meeting place for pleasant moments of Relax Among restaurants, cafes, and shops. Within the port area are the ancient Mercadante Quarries, a protected archaeological site whose rocks emerging from the sea were once used to make millstones.

Capo d'Orlando Marina

The Capo d'Orlando marina is a wonderful window onto the sea, offering access to the Aeolian Islands, just a few miles away, thanks to numerous charter companies.
Surrounded by restaurants, bars, wine bars, pubs, and shops, it's a meeting place for everyone, where you can spend pleasant moments relaxing while watching the sun reflect on the sea and boats.
Within the port area, there is a trail to explore the ancient Mercadante Quarries, a protected archaeological site whose rocks emerging from the sea were once used to make millstones.

Goletta Trail

Formerly the only route connecting the village of San Gregorio and the center of Capo d'Orlando, the Goletta trail is approximately 1.2 km long. It is completely immersed in nature, amidst lush Mediterranean scrub, a place where silence reigns, interrupted only by the sound of the sea and the chirping of cicadas. Along the way, you can admire a breathtaking view stretching from the sea to the Aeolian Islands.

Villa Piccolo

Private residence of the Piccolo family of Calanovella: residence of the poet Lucio Piccolo, the painter and photographer Casimiro Piccolo and Agata Giovanna Piccolo, an expert in botany, cousins of Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, author of “The Leopard,” who stayed with them for a long time.

Nestled in a park spanning over twenty hectares and boasting rare plant species, today it is a cultural center and museum where you can admire precious ceramic collections and the evocative collection of "magical watercolors" painted by Casimiro Piccolo. It also houses a library with thousands of volumes and a historical archive, featuring period prints and documents.

Bagnoli Thermal Baths

Interesting Roman archaeological site dating back to the 3rd-4th century AD, located in the Bagnoli district, near the port area of Capo d'Orlando.
The evocative Baths of Bagnoli once stood near a monumental Roman villa, of which only a few ruins remain. The first discoveries at the Baths of Bagnoli date back to 1987, when an archaeological excavation uncovered part of this large structure.

Antiquarium “Agatirno”

A small museum housing finds from the Bronze Age and the 1st century AD, originating not only from the Bagnoli thermal baths but also from burial sites dating back to the 3rd-4th century BC discovered in the municipality.
